The
main objective of the UEM Group Knowledge Seminars is to build a
culture of sharing of knowledge, sharing and building a “learning
organisation”. It
is a platform that provides the opportunity for us to learn more
about the Group. It is also consistent with our efforts to build a
culture of sharing of knowledge and experience and to develop a
learning culture within the Group. It is through seminars such as
this that we hope to provide you with ideas and insights on how
others in the group as well as outside the Group are managing their
challenges.
As
we are aware, Knowledge owned by employees hardly happened by
accident. Especially in an organisation like UEM Group, which is
supportive of staff development and has invested a significant
amount of resources (energy, time and money) in developing knowledge
and skills of the workforce. This comes in the form of official
training programmes or projects involvement. However, in a
competitive market today, not only we need to retain good
performers, but we must also compete to retain their knowledge.
Staff resignation/retirement should not cause us
knowledge/experience loss – if we have readily captured this
valuable knowledge before hand. We need to educate and encourage our
staff to be open on knowledge sharing and learning to tap on each
other’s strength.
